Wilshire Wood is one of those central Austin pockets people don’t always know about. It has quiet streets, big old trees, and Cherrywood and Mueller right next door. So when this house on Wilshire Parkway came up, my clients and I moved quickly.
The sellers did a full renovation in 2022, and they didn’t just paint and stage. They replaced the plumbing, upgraded the electrical, and put on a standing seam metal roof. That’s the unglamorous stuff buyers usually end up paying for later. They also added a pool with a great blue-tile water feature and new metal fencing.
It’s a fun house, too. The kitchen has warm wood cabinets, sage-blue walls, open shelving, and a farmhouse sink. The primary bath has emerald herringbone tile and brass fixtures that you don’t see in every flip. Out back there’s a casita with exposed beams, good for an office, studio, or gym, sitting by the pool under a canopy of mature trees.
Homes like this don’t come up often in Wilshire Wood or Cherrywood. If you’re hoping to buy in East Austin’s older neighborhoods, I’d love to help you find the next one.
